I first found yoga over 10 years ago as I realised that there was something missing from my strength building and cardio gym classes. Working as an Assistant Headteacher in a large Junior school, yoga not only gave me a physical workout but a space in which to switch off and settle my busy mind. It has helped me overcome health issues and stressful working conditions during the past few years and as a result I wanted to bring the peace and strength that I found through practising yoga to others. I completed my 200 RYT with Yoga Haven which was an incredible, life-changing experience. It taught me to accept the things I can’t do (yet!) and to be ok with being out of my comfort zone.
My classes are Vinyasa based, linking the breath with movement. We start slowly and build up to more challenging postures with a soothing Savasana at the end where you can absorb all the benefits of the practise and really let go. For me yoga is about building strength but also, and perhaps more importantly, about using the positive mental effects of yoga both on and off the mat.
