Children’s Yoga

Why Yoga for Children?

As an experienced primary school teacher I am well aware of the increasing pressures on children growing up today - from the impact of social media to tests and exams - children live in a fast paced world where they are bombarded with images and information. Yoga is a great form of mindfulness and encourages awareness of thoughts and feelings which can help children to develop skills to observe their thoughts and emotions and respond to them in a considered way, rather than reacting to them. The physical, mental and emotional benefits for children can help them deal with their worries and connect with themselves and others.

In my children’s classes we use yoga sequences, games, breathing techniques and relaxation to both energise and relax. Children are able to have fun and relax, use their bodies, stretch, develop co-ordination and relieve stress at the same time.

I am a qualified primary teacher with 15 years experience and am fully insured, DBS checked and have completed the Children Do Yoga teacher training which is accredited by the CMA.
